And Just Like That, Summer is Over

We are officially back to school, September begins in less than a week, and Fall is just around the corner. Typically we ask ourselves where the summer went as it seems to fly by! This year, however, brings a whole new range of emotions concerning the last 5 months!

Our summertime happy place has always been the beach!  We didn't make it to the beach this year. In fact, there are quite a few places we didn't make it to this summer.  Yet as we reflect over the past few months, we find that our days were filled with much to be grateful for: love, laughter, lots of fun!

Summer began in full force with the celebration of Lily and Layla's 2nd birthday! It was not the birthday party their mommy had originally planned for them, but that didn't seem to matter to our girlies! They absolutely loved having a day filled with pink, purple, princesses, ponies, and presents!

June consisted of day trips instead of a long leisurely vacation. Mineral Wells is not too far from Graham, so it was an easy excursion for shopping, exploring, and, some Funky Monkey!

Shaved ice, silly girls, and sweet giggles were the result of this little outing!

Sure. It's not a Florida beach...but who says you can't still have plenty of fun in the sun! Well...as long as Lily and Layla share their water toys!

Our 4th of July holidays are traditionally spent at Lily and Layla's Honey and Bear's home on Lake Mexia with family, friends, and neighbors. Unfortunately we weren't able to experience that this year, but did manage to sneak in some afternoon hugs and fun with our little firecrackers. We sure hope Honey and Bear are already planning for next year's celebration since we have some serious catching up to take care of!

Our annual trips to Branson are so precious to our family and we cherish every moment together!

Although the trip was a little tricky to maneuver safely with two toddlers through COVID restrictions and advisories, giggles with our girlies were still totally doable!

Each trip with SugarMama and Poppy is a gift. For months we prayed we should still be able to have this trip, so we were ecstatic that we were able to continue this tradition!

A sweet friend of Kelsey and Ryan's offered to let us enjoy her beautiful pool while they were out of town. It was an amazing opportunity to sneak in some end of summer swimming and picnicking with the family. The view and our time together was absolutely spectacular!

It wasn't the summer we expected, but it was perfectly precious for us to spend time with our family and remember that no matter the circumstances, life is certainly worth celebrating!
