We Need a Little Christmas!

It's that time of year, y'all!! We can officially celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. We may have been decorating for Christmas since November 1st, but since it is now December, we can officially enjoy the holiday!

We love our home at this time of year as it is filled with sweet memories and reminders of what is truly important: the birth of our Savior and the love and joy of our family and friends.

Cooking Up Some Holiday Treats

From hot chocolate to candy canes, cupcakes and lollipops, our kitchen is filled with sweets and goodies for the holiday festivities.

The candy and confections ornaments once hung on the Craigs' Christmas tree when Dwayne was a little boy. Thankfully SugarMama saved the ornaments and handed them down to us. While some may not consider the dime store ornaments precious heirlooms, they are certainly priceless to us!

Our Nannie made delicious Christmas candies each year! Since she always made each of our favorites, we had plenty of candy to savor and share (or selfishly hide) each year. Although we've tried to make her Peanut Patties since she passed away, no one makes them quite like her. Last year, Kelsey had her handwritten recipe engraved into a board as a gift for Christmas. It is a precious reminder that Nannie will always in our heart, and that her legacy of her love and care will be in every family gathering and every dish prepared.

Gathering Around the Table

We'll be the first to admit that our dining room table is not a glamorous (is there such a thing as a glamorous table?) one you would find in a home decor magazine. But, you guessed it, it is a family treasure for us! We inherited the table from our DayDay (Dwayne's paternal grandmother), so it means the world to us! You can just feel the love and laughter that has circled this family table for the last 75 years or so.

The Santa Collection

Since his first Christmas in 1966, Dwayne has been collecting Santas. Some were passed down to him, some were made especially for him, some were gifts from others, and a few were gifts to himself (a common occurrence for sure). His love for the jolly old elf came naturally as Nanny loved a Santa with "such a cute little face".

Oh, Holy Night!

"For unto us a child is born" and became the greatest celebration of all!

DayDay hand painted this nativity scene for Dwayne his first Christmas. Each year we carefully unpack each precious piece to be prominently displayed in our home. Our sister-in-law Bec made the Oh, Come Let Us Adore Him lighted sign that hangs over our mantle.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Yes...you guessed it... This is our favorite hot-chocolate-drinking-Christmas-movie-watching- puppy-snuggling-waiting-for-Santa-Claus-to-arrive spot.

Seas & Greetings

With the chaos of the past year, we love being surrounded by memories of our happy place: the beach! The hues of blue are soothing and remind us that "all is calm" and "all is bright".

Our collection of Christmas frames began when we had only been dating a few months. We love adding new frames and memories each year to remind us of the most wonderful time of the year!

Donuts, Cupcakes, and Macaroons...Oh, My!

Our sweet girlies are loving their LolliPop Suite these days. You know we would give our girls anything in the world before we'd spoil them. Ha!

Thankfully their pink and gold flocked tree is all about striving to be as sweet as our two little sweeties! It even has a keepsake of their first trip to Walt Disney World.

And To All A Good Night

Our children are not so little anymore, but that doesn't mean our home shouldn't be nestling-ready, right?

It's every parent's dream to have their family all together for the holidays. For some that may not be possible this year, but we pray that your Christmas is safe, healthy, and filled with love and special memories! Happy Holidays and...
